HELIAMPHORA

MANY PLANTS AVAILABLE MID OCTOBER 2024!

The Heliamphora are the South American representatives of the Sarraceniaceae. They are found almost exclusively on those flat table-top mountains, known as Tepuis, in Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela. Here they are isolated from the warmer lowlands, and this has resulted in extreme speciation, where different species are found on different mountain tops.
In cultivation they appreciate high light levels, but also lower temperatures, and in a greenhouse are best kept near the door. Treat most as you would Sarracenia, standing in rain water, and allow a winter minimum of 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit).
Keep the pitchers topped up with rain water, showering them overhead at least daily, more frequently during periods of hot weather. They do not need, or indeed like, misting, which can encourage sooty mildew to develop.

The plants we offer are fully hardened off to greenhouse conditions.

Plants will not despatch during extreme hot or cold temperatures, and hence delivery may be delayed on occasion.
